Elexa Kaisu Poropudas is a Finnish-American Filmmaker. Her films center around contemporary life- what it feels like to be alive today- portraying the internal life externally on film.

She trained as a contemporary Circus Performer at Sweden’s prestigious Cirkus Pilots, until turning her attention to stage and film acting. She attended the two year acting program (2015-2017) at the Playhouse West Brooklyn Actors Lab under the tutelage of Jim Parrack and Andrea Dantas. In 2017, she wrote, directed and produced a one act play, REBELLION DOGS, which was staged at the Drama Book Shops' black box theater in Manhattan, with a second run at Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX). It was selected as a semi-finalist of the Eugene O’Neill Playwrights conference that same year.

In 2018, she founded the film production company Stranger Films.

She has a BA in Studio Arts from Cal Poly Humboldt. She currently resides in San Francisco.

Elexa Kaisu Poropudas has had a varied career in the arts for the past two decades. She trained as a Circus performer in Europe before taking to the theater stage as an actor, then expanding to writing, directing and producing for the stage. She began making independent films in 2017 in NYC. She is self-taught and indie to the bone.
